91% of people would not choose a hyphenated name for their child, with 52% having a real dislike of this name trend. The remaining 9% would at least consider it, with 3% loving the trend.
Personally, I think this trend looks kind of “messy”, if that makes sense? Like, it’s just doesn’t seem like a finished name, a bit too disjointed. My parents actually gave me a hyphenated name (Jessie-May) 24 years ago but the hyphen was accidentally left out on my birth certificate. There’s a few people who call me Jessie-May, which I don’t mind, but I would never give my own child a hyphenated name.
