I have seen heaps of Harrison’s as well. It is the baby in Winners and Losers and with the popularity of Harry. Also that photo is why I do not want to go to Bondi when I go over to Sydney (for the third time) in late January.
I hear you in regard to the beach – that is way too crowded for me as well!
Well you know how Ruby on “Rafters” has affected Ruby – can definitely see another TV baby name really taking off.
It is never that crowded at cottesloe (or anywhere in Perth ever).
Thats true there and imagine if they chose Jack one of the other options.
Ah, the WA beaches are the best – people don’t know what they’re missing.
Another Vasko? Wasn’t it just a few weeks ago you reported a baby boy Vasco? Or did I see that somewhere else? Either way, very cool!
There are so many original gems on this list it’s tough to pick a favourite. Too tough.
There was a Vasco in a baby contest, but that was nearly a year ago. It’s a great name though.
That must be how behind I am on my reading
Ack, sorry!
I was impressed you’d remembered it so well! 🙂
Juniper-Blue – who’d want to put that combination together? 🙂
Interesting to see Khaleesi from Game of Thrones being used, since it’s actually a title rather than a name. Sometimes it’s hard to tell what will capture people’s attention – it’s actually been much more successful than Sansa or Daenerys.
I saw that, and wondered if someone had been inspired by your moniker …
I’m not surprised really, because Khaleesi sounds more name-like than Sansa, and because it’s not a character’s name, it’s not tied to a particular person and their reputation or actions.
I was a bit worried when I checked it in the wiki to see if I’d got all the ramifications, and I read (I paraphrase):
“A khaleesi could be lower than her warlord’s horse, because while he will allow his warriors to sleep with his wife, he would never let them ride his horse”.
!!!!
It didn’t seem quite flattering to the name, somehow.
Luckily there is only the one Khaleesi in this story, and a huge part of the journey and development of this character (Daenerys) is how she ensures she is a respected and highly regarded Khaleesi 🙂
She’s a very strong and powerful powerful presence, throughout the show and the books, so I can see how people are attracted to her character.
Sometimes I think you need to remain blissfully ignorant, or you’d never choose ANY name …
