Yes in Austria these names would appear very uncommon and maybe a little bit eccentric. In contrast, there are many names like Magdalena or Johanna, which are quite popular in Austria but uncommon in other parts of the world
Very true – Magdalena would be unusual and kind of hip here, and Johanna maybe slightly dated – it was a popular name when I was at school.
