Brandi contacted the blog at the end of July about the names she had picked out for her twin girls. She had chosen Poppy and Maude, but somehow Maude didn’t seem quite right.
Brandi and her husband recently welcomed their girls:
Marigold Mora Faye
and
Poppy Viola Ruth
baby sisters to Bryce, Max, Jack and Pearl.
Brandi didn’t want “matchy” twin names, but she just loved the names Marigold and Poppy. So she had the good sense to throw her own rule out the window, and follow her heart. I think the names sound really adorable together.
Congratulations Brandi on your gorgeous wee flower girls!

Congratulations! I love the names, especially Mora. I was so pleasantly thrilled to see the name Mora, as it’s the name of my husband’s grandmother who recently passed. I’ve never heard it on anyone else before and would love to use it to honor her. My grandmother, who has also passed, is named Pearl, and I’m also wanting to use it. AND….there is a Jack on our family tree so we are contemplating using 3 names you have used! Jack, Pearl and Mora. Lovely!
It’s lovely that the names hold so much meaning for you, and the combinations sound lovely together. Congratulations on the arrival of your baby girls! 🙂
Thank you so much for the follow up post, and I LOVE the photo!
@Siobhan, I wasn’t aware of the Maura Faye casting company. I live in the US. Mora is a Spanish word for “blackberry,” and blackberries (strangely enough) have an important meaning in mine and my husband’s lives.
Thanks again for all the congrats! Even though she’s only five days old, I have yet to regret or second-guess Marigold’s name. It’s just so…her.
I didn’t know that about Mora and blackberries, how interesting, and what a wonderful way to honour a personal association.
The picture isn’t as pretty as the twins, but I did think the flowers looked lovely together.
It’s one word of many for blackberry or a type of berry (mulberry, blueberry, etc.). I guess it depends on which Spanish dialect is spoken. It was the prettiest word out of the different options for blackberry so we went with it. lol
Good choice! I like it.
What lovely names! I wonder if she’s aware that there’s a well-known casting agent/agency in Australia named Maura Faye?
Lovely family of names!
Such pretty names! Congratulations Brandi 🙂
Yay, congratulations Brandi and family!!
As much as I love the name Maude, it just didn’t feel right. Marigold is perfect!
