I just came across this post, looking for something else – Inigo Charles is my little boy! How funny. I can say that, a year on, we’ve had a huge range of responses to his name (which is a Welsh family name). We expected that, as it is unusual, but we didn’t totally anticipate the confusion with Indigo..! Ah well.
But most people are pleasantly surprised and have all sorts of good associations (Inigo Jones the architect, Inigo Montoya from Princess Bride!)
And the Charles is after his grandfather, and we thought a good solid counterbalance.
I love the name Inigo, and I’m glad most see it in a positive light (I do see why Indigo might throw people off). I thought Inigo Charles was a very handsome combination. Congratulations on your little boy! 🙂

My brother is named Isaac and I am Ebony wow
I thought that one would interest you! 🙂
You know too well 🙂
Wow! What a collection!. There are so many lovely combos here. Adeline Ziporah, Arabella Mary, Bonnie Constance, Guinevere Portia, Lilia Florence, Pearl Eliza, Hugo Atlas and Luca Franco are my favourites.
I also quite like D’Artagnan in a GP kind of way.
There was a message in the notice to say that Adeline Ziporah had been named after her great-grandmothers, from both sides of the family – sweet.
Oh, that’s lovely!
I try really hard not to say I hate this name I hate that name what were they thinking, especially because these are real people, but Mississippi has me biting my tongue.
After reading through tons of Charlottes and Sophies, I rather like reading a Mississippi … I’m guessing she will get called Missy anyway.
Anyway, tune in next week – your tongue will get quite a work out! 😉
