Radio host Tim Blackwell, and his wife Monique, welcomed their first child on January 10, and have named their daughter Bo Elizabeth. Bo Blackwell was born at 2.25 am yesterday.
Tim is co-host of Nova FM’s national drive show, Meshel, Tim & Marty. They have been presenting the show since 2011, and it is #1 in Brisbane, and #2 in Perth. He regularly appears on Channel 10’s The Project, and is an ambassador for Village Gold Class Cinemas.

I have a boy cousin Beau, so I couldn’t go girl Bo even if i wanted to.
I love alliterative names, so much so I wish they had gone with Bo Betty Blackwell (seriously say it out loud)
I did – it’s an absolute tongue-twister! I think I ended up saying Bob Etsy Blackwell.
I like Bo. I also go back in forth in my own head over whether I prefer it as Bo (gender-neutral) or Beau (typically male but the vowel combo is femme-acceptable) for a little girl. I’m still undecided.
I guess Beau on a girl could be seen as a short form of Isabeau.
I think Bo on a girl is sweet, but as Sophia said, I would prefer it as a nickname for something.
Maybe … Bonnie? I’m having trouble thinking of girl’s names starting with Bo …
I know. I was trying to think of what I would use Bo for. Bonnie works. I didn’t think about her.
How about Bronte nn Bo?
Well it’s a new one to me, but I guess it could work.
There seems to be a little bit of a trend of radio hosts giving their children unusual names… Wolfe, Kinga, Bugsy, Sunday, Art, Hewston, Lewis Lewis, and Bo.
I like it, people who dare to go little different!
It’s also nice to note that the majority of them have very normal middle names, Bo Elizabeth is fantastic!
Yes I get the feeling that radio presenters tend to be closet name nerds, and seem to put an enormous amount of thought into their children’s names.
I love Bo but I think if I were to give it to a future daughter it’d have to be as a nickname for something… Boheme maybe, or Bowen? Still very sweet though, congratulations to Tim and Monique and welcome little Bo 🙂
I thought it was rather sweet too – you always hope the first baby to be published for the year will have a great name, so this didn’t disappoint.
