Pingback: Names of Australian Birds for Girls | Waltzing More Than Matilda
Just found out Brahmini is a type of duck. I think it makes a cool bird name.
Oh thanks very much for that research – there’s also a bird of prey called the Brahminy Kite; in Australia it’s a sea-eagle. That’s also a cool bird name! 🙂 There are other birds with the name too, and a turtle and a snake.
There is also a charity called Brahminy which helps troubled children (started by a man named Allan Brahminy).
I have always had a soft spot for Amethyst. I love the stone, the mythology behind it etc. Brahminy is interesting. I am guessing its a girl since the middle name is Roseae? Roseae reminds me of roseacea 😦
I also like:
Arabella India Michelle
Chantelle Olivia Isla (Arabella)-I love Chantal, Chantelle isn’t bad. This spelling, I noticed, seems pretty common in Australia. I love Chantelle paired with Arabellea.
Clara Florence
Edith Joy (Henry)-GP, I actually really dislike Edith but I do like seeing it on a baby. Weird, I know.
Gabrielle Zara Louise (Amelie)
Greta Louise (Olivia, Jamie, Elliot, Fletcher)
Gwendoline Fay (Zali, Bruce, Rhett, Clancy, Owen)
Havana Quinn-Gp
Holly Irene Rose (Jannon, Bryce)-not usually a fan of Holly, but love this combo
Ita Myrtle (Jethro)-ooo, Ita is a cool obscure Irish name you don’t see too often. I like this combo and the sibling set
Jemima (Molly, Finn, Oliver, Isaac, Samuel)
Saffron Norma Anne (Spencer)-love this one!
Ace Dushan (Aaron)-I am guessing Dushan is an anglicized form of the Slavic, mostly Serbian, Dušan?
Edward Gregory
Frederick George (Margaret)
Nash Alistair (Minnie)
Slater Hugh-GP
I am pretty sure the twins are both girls.
Yes, Dushan is a form of Dušan; the family did have a Slavic surname. Apparently the name means “soul”.
