Actor Chris Hemsworth, and his actress wife Elsa Pataky, welcomed twin boys on March 18, and have named their sons Tristan and Sasha. Tristan and Sasha Hemsworth join big sister India, nearly 2; India’s birth was announced on the blog.
The twins are the first members of the family to be born in America, as they arrived at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood, Los Angeles. India was born in London, while Elsa is Spanish, and of course Chris is Australian.
Hhhhm, I’m hesitant. I always use Tristan as the example of that name that has nothing wrong with it … except I really don’t like it. It just seems to be effeminate to me. As for Sasha while I recognise that it is a legitimate boys’ name (as a diminutive of Alexander) I feel that in Australia it is solidly girl ala Marion or Vivian. I see the names as indicative that they don’t plan a Australian upbringing as I’m sure both would be more acceptable overseas.
According to this interview, Chris Hemsworth says he “definitely” wants his children to grow up in Australia, and has supposedly bought a house here. I guess we will have to wait and see.

I think that they are great names esp Tristan, a very Aussie boys name from my era in the 70’s and 80’s. All the cute boys were called Tristan 🙂
